We were wondering if you could implement a barcode scanner so we can keep track of the products we're buying. Since buy me a pie already keeps track of recurring items this would be a nice fit.

It would work like this, while we're shopping or when we unpack our groceries we would scan the barcodes with our iPhones and enter the quantity. Whenever we open or use one of the products we would scan it with an iPhone so we can keep track when our inventory gets low and automatically add it to our shopping list. For example we store a lot of our groceries in a separate storeroom and we can't keep track of how much and what items we've got there. With such a feature we could track when we need to buy new groceries and what we've at home even when we're not at home and are unsure what to buy.

It would make our life's so much easier and it's definitely a feature worth paying for. Future versions could also render usage statistics but the most important point is being able to track what's available at home and how much.

Please consider having multiple master lists (product dictionaries), one per category/store/something. Each shopping list would be tied to exactly one master list.

This would allow storing different *kinds* of lists, for example:

- Things to pack

- Apps to buy

I realize it's a complication, but I feel it would really enhances the utility of supporting multiple lists.

At present there is no easy way to search the master list (product dictionary). I suggest adding the standard search field to the top of the alphabetical list (and adding a magnifying glass icon above the letter A in the right column, as usual). That way we can easily find items, even if we don't know which word comes first (is it "peas-frozen" or "frozen peas"? I don't want to have to remember).
