Alexa, Amazon Echo, IFTTT integration

larry reinstein 8 years ago updated by eric 6 years ago 33

I love the buymeapie app. However, now that we own Amazon Echo we use the Alexa shopping list when we think of something we need. It is very convenient to be able to speak out loud to our Echo (always listening) and "ask Alexa" for items that come to mind. Alexa then adds it to the Alexa Shopping List. However, for keyboard entry and while we are shopping we much prefer to use the buymeapie App.

One of the competing shopping list Apps already integrates with Alexa via IFTTT.Com. Whatever gets added to the Alexa shopping list automatically gets placed on the other shopping list App. Is Buymeapie looking into adding this connectivity as well??

This seems like a great idea.

THanks

There are good news for the lucky users of the smart Amazon Alexa devices! Now it has become possible to manage shopping lists not only on a mobile device or a PC but also with the help of a smart personal assistant developed by Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721QFT7Q/

+1 any update on this idea?

filling buymeapie via Alexa would totally rock, especially since i got multiple lists for family members

It would be a great idea if "buy me a pie could connect thru Echo, Amazon. I love the app...but now I want to be able to speak to Alexa to add items.

+3

please add Alexa support. Amazon sold 9x as many Echos this Christmas compared to last year.

+4

I agree with the above! I don't want to stop using Buy Me a Pie

+3

I agree. Alexa support would be great.

+4

I'm greedy. I want both BMaP AND Alexa voice adds. Please

I agree! I purchased the premium buy me a pie, too, but I plan to cancel in favor of a list app that works with Alexa.

+2

I am with everyone above. It would be so much easier to use my buy me a pie that we use and love with Amazon Echo than having to find a new app

+1

Indeed a great idea. I was also looking for an Amazon Echo/Alexa Skill to add items to Buy Me A Pie. Own the pro version of Buy Me a Pie since years.

+2

Alexa support would be a dream!!!

Alexa is supported since same weeks.
It is only necessary to enable the Bring Skil in Alexa app.

+1

I don't see a skill called "Bring." ????

+1

My mistake, I mixed it with the app 'Bring'.

For this, a skill is now available.

I would encourage the Buymeapie team to plan the Alexa integration.

Your app is just great and its market (the group of users willing to use and pay for the pro version) will be demanding this kind of feature even more in the near future.

Best luck!

Hello,

Do you work on a Alexa Skill for "Buy me a Pie"? I would like to fill your app with my goods over alexa. when do you not work on it or it is not planned, please let us know. so that I can change to bring.

Thanks

any news when we can get an alexa skill perhaps?

We're already working on it, Philipp. Coming soon!

I too will be very excited to have the Alexa skill. I don't really want to migrate to another ToDo app if I don't have to!

work faster ;)  can not wait!!!

So disappointed to get a message today that you're doubling the price of the pro version subscription!! I'm sorry, but I won't renew until we see Amazon Echo integration!

Roni, how did the message look like? We haven't changed the price for a very long time. We suppose that there was a 50% discount which you saw and it finished. Please, contact our support team at support@buymeapie.com if you have further issues.

another +1 for Alexa skill. Hope we get an email notice when it's available!

+1

I agree. Alexa support would be great.

Do you have an ETA for the Alexa skill? Would love itY

+2

Work faster ;) hahaha

I totally agree. An Alexa skill would be the best! Please make one today! Thanks!

IFTTT was unfortunately not included in this release. It would have been far more compatible with other services like Google Home. :(
